The Kansas City Chiefs continue to adjust their practice squad by adding All-American Linebacker and 2026 seventh-round pick, Aiden Fisher.
On Tuesday, after clearing waivers, the Chiefs signed the former Houston Texans linebacker who recently won a national championship as an Indiana Hoosier.
The NCAA All-American had pre-draft analysts believing his draft stock was higher than where he was chosen. However, after six games with the Texans, they released him.
He has drawn NFL comparisons to current Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill, who is having one of the best seasons of his career. With Tranquill set to become a free agent after the season, Fisher could receive serious consideration for a more prominent role before the start of the 2027 NFL season.

The rookie 7th-round pick was an All-American last season en route to helping Indiana win a national championship. https://t.co/6tiiKUIUma pic.twitter.com/SQ3NKkCV4x
Fisher was a standout player at Indiana, consistently making impactful plays. He will likely contribute on special teams for the Chiefs, but I can envision him and Jeffrey Bassa competing for starting roles next year.
Last week, the Chiefs elevated linebacker Cam Jones after placing wide receiver Tyquan Thornton on injured reserve. Kansas City is looking to strengthen the linebacker position and has also made a solid addition by claiming former Tampa Bay Buccaneers edge rusher Jack Pyburn, who could be in the mix for significant playing time next season.
Kansas City is back at practice on Wednesday to begin preparation for their Sunday Night showdown in Seattle against the Seahawks. It will be homecoming for Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker, who guided the Seahawks to a Super Bowl win. For his dominant performance, he was named Super Bowl LX MVP.
